Best Essential Oil Tips for Everyday Use

Using essential oils on a daily basis can be a great addition to your wellness journey. From treating a variety of health symptoms and prevention, to skin care and cleaning, the use of essential oils daily is quite rewarding.

Using essential oils in everyday life

When I first started using essential oils, I did not understand how much they would change my life. Afterall, it took me 3 years to use my first essential oil after several people had shared them with me.

I was not a believer because I didn’t understand the power of essential oils when used in my everyday life.

My only regret is I wish I had started sooner.

The benefits I have experienced never cease to amaze me: sleeping better, emotional balance, healthy clean home, motivation, and much more!

I am always on the lookout for ways to improve my healthy lifestyle and using essential oils on a regular basis fit the bill.

I prefer to use the oils aromatically and topically. My results are amazing.

I took the time to learn about essential oils and how they work for everyday use. Today I have a few tips for you to use them to achieve successful results too:

1 – Essential Oil Quality for Everyday Use

When I made the decision to use essential oils, I went to a few local stores and tried their oils. In my later research I discovered that was not a great idea. It’s important to use pure essential oils to get results.

I am especially sensitive to many things. Choosing doTERRA Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils was the right decision for me to reduce chances of sensitivities and get the desired result.

2 – Chemistry of Essential OIls

When using essential oils on a daily basis, be aware of the potency. I started out haphazardly using them, not realizing the power contained in just a single drop.

Some are more potent than others due to the chemical structure and reactivity of some essential oil elements. Diluting certain oils or using a lower dose is the best way to ensure safe application.

For example, I applied Oregano oil without dilution and let’s just say that was not a great idea! Lesson learned.

3 – Use a Variety of Essential Oils Daily

One of the things I love about essential oils is that many share the same benefits. For example, you can use a variety of oils to help support sleep:

  • Lavender
  • Vetiver
  • Roman Chamomile
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Bergamot
  • Sandalwood
  • Marjoram

Since our bodies are all different, you can introduce many oils into your usage to find which work best for you.

4 – How Much Essential Oil to Use Daily

One day I saw my grandkids using quite a lot of Lavender before bed. I wondered if that was a good idea. It turns out that more is not better with essential oils.

With a high concentration and potency, you can gain amazing benefits with just a drop or two applied more frequently.

The kids understand the power of a drop now!

5 – Diluting Essential Oils for Everyday Use

I usually dilute my essential oils with a carrier oil which helps to widen the surface area of application and slow the rate of absorption. I typically use about 3 to 4 drops of a carrier oil to one drop of essential oil. Learn more about that here.
