Well, in my own experience I learned that depending on outside motivators doesn’t last to long at all.
Instead, I discovered that there is magic to it. The magic is YOU!
The late Jim Rohn once said, “The best motivation is self-motivation. The guy says, ‘I wish someone would come by and turn me on.’ What if they don’t show up? You’ve got to have a better plan for your life.”
Today, instead of going into a long list of what to do to motivate yourself, I am going to focus on one thing only.
That is having a strong desire. This will fuel your motivation from within. Let’s explore.
Understanding your Deepest Desire to Get Motivated
You created your goals for a reason. What was it? For example, if your goal is to lose a specific amount of weight, why did you make that goal in the first place?
Maybe you want to feel better, fit into smaller clothes, have more energy, or something else. Whatever the reason, revisit it.
True motivation comes from within. It’s that deep desire in your heart, mind and soul that means so much to you. Revisiting your heart’s desire is the first step to how to stay motivated to achieve your goals.
What is it that you want and why do you want it?
Understanding your deepest desire and how it can change your life is what will give you the drive and motivation to move forward each day towards your goal.
Tapping into your inner motivation can be done in a number of ways. For example you may create a dream board, write things down, or say daily affirmations.
Whatever works for you is a personal choice. But again, the most important thing is that you have an extremely clear picture of what you want in life.
For example, if weight loss is your goal, then picture yourself at your perfect weight. Visualize the things you will be able to do or clothes you will wear once you reach your ideal weight.
Dig deep into the details of your heart’s desire. Create that fire in your belly which in turn will give you the inner drive and motivation to move forward.
Once you do this, you will have created the magic inside yourself of how to stay motivated every day.
