Since I started practicing Yoga on a regular basis, I’ve seen the benefits for myself! I feel less stressed, calmer, and energized all at the same time. My muscles get a good stretch too and compliment my running!
Yoga is practiced in over 100 different forms depending on the level you are at as well as the type of Yoga. It’s no surprise that over 80 million people will likely try Yoga according to the 2016 Yoga in America study.

What are the Real Benefits of Yoga for Stress?
We all feel stressed at one time or another, right? Sometimes, stress takes over and can seem overwhelming. Stress can exhaust you mentally, physically and emotionally and cause real havoc in your life.
One of my favorite benefits of Yoga is that it can help quiet the mind and reduce stress. According to researchers, performing Yoga helps release feel-good brain chemicals like serotonin that put you in a better mood.
I like that a lot!
Couple your Yoga practice with essential oils and you are in for a wonderful, peaceful experience!

Can Yoga Help Relieve Back Pain?
Have you ever had to go on weekly visits to the chiropractor? What a hassle, not to mention the high cost!
I have suffered from terrible low back pain from sitting in chairs that were not physically ideal. As a result, I saw a chiropractor for a very long time.
I decided to seek alternatives and learned that Yoga stretching could help! And YES, it sure did! These days I include Yoga in my fitness routine at least twice a week and no longer have any back pain at all. Sure, it took time and practice but it was so worth it!
What are the Real Benefits of Yoga for a Good Night’s Sleep?
Lack of sleep usually leads to more stress and a crappy day! According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults need about 7 to 9 hours of sleep! Do you get yours?
If not, you may be a little cranky the next day!
Yoga can contribute to increased melatonin in your body, helping provide a feeling of calm and well-being. In turn, this leads to sleeping better at night.
Along with Yoga for relaxation, I love to diffuse a variety of essential oils to support a good sleep.
Conclusion
These are just three ways that Yoga impacts your body and mind. It’s restorative benefits are so worth taking 30 to 60 minutes a couple of times a week to practice Yoga.
